Regrowth Organisation

We are a not-for-profit

2020- During the Covid-19 pandemic our purpose is simple: to provide communities with vital resources in emergencies and disasters of all kinds, we focus on solutions to problems, and we deliver the benefits directly to those in greatest need so they can recover and regrow.

We are currently 100% focused on solutions to the problems faced by our front line health workers and those who are risking their lives to maintain essential services across the Nation.

Our emergency donations platform has now been re-tooled to provide vital sanitation supplies to these important services, we have reached an agreement* with one of Tasmania's top whiskey distillers to manufacture bulk sanitizers for hospitals and front line workers.

*-Note: The hand sanitiser manufacturing and distribution did not proceed as planned, as shortly after this agreement the Tasmanian Government eneacted the compulsory acquisition of all isopropyl alcohol supplies in the face of the unprecendented crisis.

Our History

The Regrowth Organisation began as a Bushfire Benefit Concert in 2013.

January 2013

Regrowth Concert for Bushfire Relief

Bushfires devastated our community and left 5000+ tourists stranded on the Tasman Peninsula.

To say thanks to the Emergency Services and Volunteers who battled the blazes and prevented any loss of lives, Regrowth founder Dave Campbell organized the concert from the local evacuation centre.

The concert was held on the grounds of the Dunalley Hotel

Over 8500 people attend the all day event with 8 acts :

The Grass Line | Harrison Manton | The Fringe Dwellers | Anita Hustas & Ali Hart | Jude Elliot | The Roobs | The Fabulous Terrazzo Brothers | Trent Shand (Stand-Up Comedian)

2014

Regrowth step-up and continue to support local artists

bg

After a successful first concert it was apparent that Regrowth had a role to play in the arts and entertainment sector, promoting and supporting local artists through live events and using this as a platform for fundraising and awareness of our other community assistance initiatives.

Having run the APRA Peoples Stage at Falls Festival for several years, David approached Falls Festival with the proposal to host a small stage to promote local artists.

The Festival organizers agreed that a replacement for the APRA stage was needed and gave us the green light to go ahead with the Regrowth Stage

The Regrowth Stage was a huge success, and following the 2014/15 festival, the stage carried on under the name "The Homebrewed Stage" until the demise of the festival in 2020.

2018 / 2019

Live Emergency Alerts System 1.0 conceived and created, Donations Platform for Tasmanian Councils conceived and implemented.

In the 2018/19 Tasmanian Bushfires, we identified a lackof vital alerts and live updates from the Tasmanian Fire Service via TasAlert, which has a large number of serious flaws, so we set about building a better one to let Tasmanian's have a modern and effective alerts system 100% free to use in all emergencies.

We also pioneered a donations system that coordinated directly with bushfire affected West Coast Council staff to ascertain precisely which medical and sanitation supplies were urgently needed, we purchased them and arranged for them to be picked up directly by council staff, this eliminated inappropriate donations causing clutter, and allowed the donations to go directly to the Council without delays.

That was until Covid-19, now we have a completely different threat upon us, but we have the experience to adapt swiftly and meet these new challenges with all we've got and more.

2021/2022

The Regrowth Radio Show on 97.7 Tasman FM

In response to the hardships and disruptions to the music industry during the pandemic, we initiated a weekly all-Australian radio show on 97.7 Tasman FM to showcase local artists.

The 3+ hour long show was broadcast every Sunday from 7pm, and swiftly gained a wide audience across Australia after it was syndicated to over 35 other radio stations via the CBAA.

Thanks to social media, we were able to tag and promote each artist on our show, and emphasized their various online merchandise and streaming portals to assist them through those dark days when there were no live events

Due to repeated requests from artists and listeners, we are considering returning to the airwaves in 2024 with a similar weekly show.

2024 and Beyond

Rebooting Regrowth 2024 and beyond

Post-pandemic, we are continung development of the alerts system to cover the entire Nation with a revolutionary new method to deliver life saving alerts, even remote or regional areas without radio or phone signal, all 100% free of charge.

It is our intention to develop this alerts system and hand it over to the Federal Government and/or State Goverments to administer on a permanent basis.

Due to the significant increase in cyber attacks and hacking occuring globally, we have taken all previous beta versions of our alerts system offline so we can make the neccesary updates to ensure their security.
